Tokyo’s massive Disney theme park, featuring beautiful fantasy scenery
The quintessential date spot for Tokyo couples, Tokyo DisneySea has a loyal following of Japanese Disney lovers.
Beyond the crazy long lines of Mickey Moose headbands, you’ll find a world of magic that has a larger grown-up profile than Tokyo Disneyland. (If you have kids, Tokyo Disneyland seems to have more of that upbeat vibe, which might be enjoyable for them.)
The resort is actually run by Oriental Land, a Japanese company that bought the rights to use the Disney brand and characters. And man, do they do a good job. They have an event pretty much every holiday season, which you can check on their website.
Tokyo DisneySea in the Daytime
It’s a whole different world inside, and like many other large themed resorts, you’ll find yourself walking and taking photos as if you were in another country. You should grab a map before you walk in.
Try to get on as many rides as possible using their FastPass system. Grab a ticket for the ride, then go to your next ride for another ticket. Just be back in time for your ride. This way, you avoid waiting in those crazy long lines that can literally take hours until your turn. Rather than standing around, why not explore the park?
Tokyo DisneySea at Night
Guess why this place is recommended for adults? The night view of DisneySea is absolutely beautiful. You’ll find everything lit up – perfect for your date.
Getting There
From Tokyo Station, take the JR Keiyo Line to Maihama Station. You’ll find plenty of fellow Disney-goers on your ride, so rest assured. If you have the JR Rail Pass, you can use it to get there.
