A panda cafe with literally panda-themed everything
There is a panda-themed cafe near Asagaya station, a few stops away from Shinjuku on the Chuo Line. And while that alone might not excite you if you’re a been-there-done-that sort of person (I was), wait till you go inside Panda Coffee.
A panda cafe full of panda things
The inside of the cafe is entirely panda-themed. Like, everything. You will find panda spoons, panda tissues, and little panda figurines throughout the cafe. I don’t think I’ve seen this much panda in one location in my life. Ueno Zoo is a close second.
Otherwise, it’s a small, cozy little cafe, and pretty quiet on a random weekday. When we went, it was pretty empty, which made it very relaxing.
Menu
The food, of course, is full of pandas. Drinks range from 500-700 yen (about $5-7 USD) and food around 1000-1500 yen (about $10-15 USD). I was in a phase where I was into cute lattes, so I got the drink and dessert combo. My friend got a parfait.
The food was good — I wouldn’t say the best desserts I’ve ever had, since I’ve eaten quite a bit in Tokyo, but worth it! Great for Instagram.
Grab lunch or dessert, take some selfies, and relax! The adorable panda atmosphere is sure to make you feel right at home.
Pro tip
Are you looking for more animal cafes? Try Shirokuma Cafe in Takadanobaba, a couple of JR train rides away from Panda Coffee.
